Building setbacks, fence regulations, and zoning requirements for Halifax County.
Setback requirements determine how far structures must be from property lines. These minimums apply to most residential construction in unincorporated Halifax County.
R-1 Residential Limited District: 30 feet from street right-of-way (≥50 feet width) or 60 feet from centerline (for right-of-way <50 feet). Corner lots require 35 feet on side facing side street for both main and accessory buildings.
